Yet More Tacky Christmas Songs. Back in 2001, we ran a series of Good/Bad/Ugly ratings of Tacky Christmas Songs, More Tacky Christmas Songs, and Even More Tacky Christmas Songs. And in 2005 we ran Still More Tacky Christmas Songs. One might think that we had covered all the tacky Christmas songs ever written. But there are simply so very many Christmas songs, and so many of them are so very tacky. Even with this fifth edition of G/B/U rating of tacky Christmas songs, there will still be plenty of fodder left for next December. More. . .

May I Help You? Vol. 2. Sometimes situations arise where you just have to take advantage of an opportunity at the expense of a customer. This one time, the unblinking lady with huge eyes came in to the department and my co-worker Kyle was helping her. Before we get into this, I need you to do an exercise. Get up and go to a mirror. Open your eyes as wide as you can, and ask yourself (in the mirror) "What can you show me in a berber carpet?" More. . .

New Fall TV Shows (2007). It's that time again. Every autumn the television networks march out their crop of new shows for the viewing public. Granted, more and more successful shows are launched at other times of the year than ever before, but September and October remain the prime time for introducing new shows to, well, prime time. More. . .

May I Help You? Vol. 1. Hi. I'm Mike. I know, I know. . . I look familiar. This could be because I have worked several jobs where you were my customer or something like that. Yep, now you remember. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to find someone who will provide the customer service that you expect? Someone who will listen to everything you say, and come up with the exact solution that you're looking for? More. . .

Misadaventures In Marketing (Parts IV through VI). Everywhere you go, you are faced with advertising. In one form or another, someone wants to sell you something, whether it be a product, a service, or an idea. Here at Dontmindme.com we want to promote awareness of what the true message of certain advertisments actually might be. More. . .

Wilhelm Award Nominations (September 2007). Some awards announce all their nominees at some predetermined date not long before the actual winners are announced. Here at Dontmindme.com we do things a little differently. At random times throughout the year we announce nominations for various categories of awards. This is one of those times. More. . .

The Harry Potter Title Generator. J. K. Rowling might be all done writing Harry Potter stories, but that doesn't mean that the fun is at an end. Whether you need a title for your Hogwarts themed fan-fiction, or if you are going through withdrawl and desperately need a boy wizard fix, or you are just wanting a laugh, the Dontmindme.com Harry Potter Title Generator is here to help with almost unlimited possible Harry Potter titles. More. . .

Baron von Smoke Rides Again. Last week I did something foolish. Actually, I imagine it's rare that a week goes by when I don't do something foolish, but this was something specifically foolish, and potentially dangerous, and certainly illegal that I wouldn't normally do which I'm going to talk about today. What did I do? I passed a car on a residential street in a non-passing zone. More. . .

A Tale of Two Beards. Let's get the background details out of the way first thing. I'm 31 years old, and until recently, I was clean shaven. Now, from time to time I might have skipped shaving for a day or five, but when I did shave, I shaved my entire face. Well, the parts that grow hair, anyway. More. . .

Misheard Lyrics. Almost everyone listens to music. Exactly what type of music can vary widely from person to person and decade to decade, but music is generally a constant with most of us. For the vast majority of us whose listening tastes go beyond classical, jazz, new age and ambient, lyrics are generally part of the music. And where there are lyrics, there exists the possibility of these lyrics being misheard or misunderstood. Between poor enunciation and overpowering guitars and percussion, that wide genre generally called rock provides ample possibility for lyrical confusion. More. . .

A Thousand Words (Volume XVIII). It's that time again. It's far too long since the last edition of A Thousand Words, but everyone loves funny photos, especially when accompanied by equally, if not even funnier, captions. This is volume 18, so that's a lot of funny photos. But before you do that, take a moment to enjoy this edition of A Thousand Words. More. . .

Let Me Confess . . .(Volume II). I've done questionable things. One of these was posting an article called on this site several years ago. In that article I get a few things off my chest. Well, almost five years have passed, and it's high time for clearing my conscience once again. Some of these confessions are new, and some are things I neglected to mention last time. Some are disturbing, some embarrassing, and some just downright silly. More. . .

2007 Academy Awards Speed Ratings. Like the Wilhelms, winter Olympic sports, and whining about Canada's national broadcaster, a speed rating of the Academy Awards is a tradition at Dontmindme.com. The show may have been a little weak and short on surprises this year, but that's fine with us. It just makes us a bit more stingy with Good ratings. In keeping with Oscar speed rating tradition, there's no in-depth analysis, just quick reactions and comments. More. . .

2007 Wilhelm Awards. It's hard to believe that an entire year has passed since the last Dontmindme.com Wilhelm Awards. A lot has happened in the last 12 months, and there are a lot of things and people which are, if not very, at least moderately deserving of a Wilhelm Award. Some of the winners were formally nominated during the last year, while others are now for the first time being mentioned in association with this prestigious prize. More. . .

Game Over For the CBC. Back in the fall of 2005, we published a rant about the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In the intro to that rant several Canadian traditions were listed, traditions such as passion for hockey, obsession with weather, and vexation with the CBC. And if the title to this article didn't give it again, we are once again back on the subject of Canada's national public broadcaster. More. . .
