This Week At IDC — May 6, 2001

by Marko Peric

Song of the Week: After featuring "Games Without Frontiers" last week I just had to feature another Peter Gabriel tune. This week it's "Solsbury Hill" which was Gabriel's first hit after leaving Genesis. Upbeat and catchy, with a strong beat and meaningful lyrics. Go download it now.

Link of the Week: The other day I was wondering what the time was in Norway (don't ask why, it's a long and complicated story, just suffice it to say that some people should probably be in school at 10:30 am. I won't mention any names here). So I randomly typed in www.worldtime.com and what do you think I got? Yup, a site that tells you the current time pretty much anywhere in the world. Just select a country from what appears to be an exhaustive list, and click on the view time link, and there you go. What's more, it shows you where on the planet your selected country happens to be, and the view is zoomable. I bookmarked it immediately. Check it out.

Fun Fact of the Week: Six-foot-six actor and Karate champion Dolph Lundgren, known for his roles as a big bruiser in movies like The Punisher, Universal Soldier, and A View to a Kill, has a masters degree in chemical engineering.

DVD of the Week: Gladiator. If you haven't seen it, well, I'm not going to tell you run out and get it now, because I want you to keep reading my site, but once you're done here, go out and get it. Not only is the movie the best Roman epic since Spartacus, the DVD comes with a second disc loaded to the breastplate with goodies. That's right, an entire disc of bonus features. That's a good thing.
