Regrettable Rides: Suddenly I'm Craving a Creamsicle. Custom paint jobs can be cool. And if you're going to go to the effort of having your vehicle painted in a colour that it would have never been available with originally, (unless it's from, oh, probably the late 1970s, or according to my research, the Phillipines), might as well go with orange. You'll be able to find it in the parking among the dozens of other Civics. If you're afraid that you might not have the only orange Civic around, go with a bright white hood. Let a frozen treat be your inspiration. More. . .
Still More Confusing Song Titles. Some time ago we ran a Good/Bad/Ugly article called Confusing
Song Titles, which naturally rated songs, six of them, actually, that have titles that don't
make sense, songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Rainy Day
Women #12 and 35." And more recently, we ran More Confusing Song Titles, and rated five more such songs, such as "1979" and "Baba O'Reilly". That's a dozen misnamed songs rated, but there's plenty more out there to rate.
Here's another batch of them. More. . .
So How Was Your Day? I'm not sure when my day actually started last Saturday. My wife and I woke up at 4:00 am to the sound of vomit. Our daughter, who had seemed just fine the night before, had just thrown up in her bed. Her little brother had been sick a few days previously, so it wasn't completely unexpected. At least, no more than waking up in the middle of the night and cleaning up puke normally would be. We got her cleaned up and changed, and sheet/blanket/pillowcase switched out, and back to bed everyone went. More. . .
Return to Sender, Address Unknown (Vol. 2). The company I work for is not especially large, but we are fairly busy most of the time. Often this means that I don't have lots of time to devote to projects that aren't urgent or especially important. Sometimes, though, items that really shouldn't be all that urgent or important turn out to be one or the other. Sometimes both. And usually, it is exactly that sort of thing which ends up going wildly off the rails. One of my responsibilities at work is handling most of our procurement. This includes things we order all the time, and things we may only ever need once. New special order items can be . . . interesting. More. . . |

Senior Moments, Volume I. There was an old lady that lived in a shoe. Wait, that's not where I want to go with this article. Although, I do want to write about an experience I had with an entirely different little old lady. . . When I first arrived in Charlottetown I realized that I would need to find employment. Being the beginning of the summer I figured I had good chances at picking up something seasonal. At the job bank I found an ad looking for someone to do yard work, and being a person who enjoys the outdoors and manual labour I figured I'd go for it. More. . .
Rodeo Events. I've been working with horses from the time I was eight. I have been bucked, kicked, bitten and had a bad fall requiring stitches. Oh, and I love it. To me, there is nothing quite comparable to riding horseback at full speed across an open field. The relationship between you and the horse is crucial and they are (usually) quite intelligent and if they don't like you, they'll show it. In my more "unbreakable" years I was involved in some rodeo type events, mainly speed events. So today I bring you my Good, Bad, Ugly rating of rodeo. More. . .
Bad Neighbours. One of the basic tenets of civilization is that it requires
people to live in close proximity with other people. This naturally results
in neighbours. I have neighbours, and odds are that unless you live on
a small island with a satellite Internet hookup, you have neighbours as
well. I recently moved, and so I don't know too many of my new neighbours,
at least not yet. Considering my previous neighbours, however, I'm not
sure how eager I am to become acquainted with the new ones. More. . .
