Featured New Artist: Franz Ferdinand.
So I heard these guys (and yes, they are a group, as opposed to some
dude named Franz) the other day on CBC's
Galaxie satellite music service with the tag line "the latest from
Scotland." My initial reaction was that The Latest From Scotland
would make a great album title, but then I started listening to the
song a bit more closely, which was called "Take Me Out" and
I thought, "This is catchy. Uneven, but definitely catchy."
If you
happen to be into Indie rock you should definitely give them a listen.
Featured Website: Sometimes when I'm online
I get bored and want to play a simple game or three. Nothing that's overly
complicated, mind you, and something that I can have open in one window
while I'm taking a break from site design. Little
Fluffy Industries provides exactly what I'm looking for —
a compendium of links to flash based games, along with reviews and content
descriptors. And it's from Lore Sjöberg, formerly of the Brunching
Shuttlecocks.
Featured Game: The recent scarcity of
updates is almost entirely due to Freelancer.
I recently acquired this game and have been playing it at almost every
occassion ever since. If anyone out there remembers Privateer,
this is essentially the same game with a vastly updated interface and
spectacular graphics, and a much larger universe. Check it out if you're
remotely into space combat sims. |
